Description: Each ProLiant BL p-Class server blade enclosure requires a pair of interconnects. The interconnects collect the NIC signals from the servers to the customer network. The ProLiant BL p-Class GbE interconnect switch is designed to reduce the number of network connections from 32 to as little as 1 per server blade enclosure. The interconnect switch uses switching technology with VLAN capability. Note: The GbE Interconnect Switch options support server NIC speeds to 100 Mbps. It is recommended that the patch panel be used with the Dual NC7780 Gigabit Upgrade Module if server NIC speeds to 1000 Mbps are required. The RJ-45 Patch Panels function as an Ethernet pass-through only. The patch panel brings all NIC signals out as separate RJ-45 connections.
